What is Tokyo Revengers about?

The tale is spun around protagonist Takemichi Hanagaki, who learns about the death of his middle-school girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, while watching the news. To make matters worse, it seems she was killed by the villainous Tokyo Manji Gang! But he is nothing much: a seemingly ordinary guy living in a sad apartment with too-thin-for-comfort walls, and a boss who is six years younger that treats him like an idiot. On top of it all, even following the death of his only ever girlfriend, he is still a complete virgin… His life is certainly at rock bottom, but his entire life changes when he suddenly time-leaps twelve years into the past, returning to his middle school days! Determined to Hinata and change the miserable life awaiting him in the future, this hopeless part-timer aims for the top position of Kanto’s most sinister delinquent gang. On this path, his encounter with Mikey is as inevitable as the rising sun....
